About the art: A long-time sci fi fan and space enthusiast, Nik wanted to create a scene of futuristic romance. Like many of Nik’s pieces, the concept came together with an ordinary event; two people walking their dogs and striking up a conversation. He combined that with a “what if this was in the future?”

This piece took several months as Nik researched various types of spacesuits, how astronauts actually MOVED, and what a corgi would like with a space helmet on. This piece embodies a sense of playfulness as the astronauts hit it off and their dogs slowly float around the scene.
